GENERAL SAFARI INFORMATION

  1. The Land Rover seats up to 6 passengers, so we can accommodate parties of 2-6 people. Should you have larger party sizes, we will endeavour to source a further vehicle.

  2. Please ensure you have had a hearty breakfast or lunch before the safari, as consumption of food and drink (apart from water) is not permitted inside the vehicle.

  3. Pets unfortunately are not able to join us, as we are likely to meet both farm and wild animals when making stops along the safari.

  4. The safari starts and ends in Swanage, however pick up from your Airbnb, hotel, campsite or even train station / airport may be an option, so please ask prior to booking.

  5. The safari will drive on some public roads, however the real experience on the safari will be navigating muddy lanes, cross-country byways and farm tracks which we have handpicked. However our safaris are gentle and comfortably paced so everyone can enjoy the ride and the scenery. There are a few rougher sections we navigate on the route, but we take those parts at a slow pace for your comfort and enjoyment.

  6. Safaris are undertaken at the guest’s own risk and Dorset Safari accepts no responsibility for any loss or injuries due to the nature of the 4x4 vehicle or the terrain on the safari.

  7. On the safari, we will stop at a number of points of interest, so please come with suitable clothing and footwear to leave the comfort of the vehicle and be prepared for some mud! Also don’t forget your camera / phone as the views are absolutely stunning!

  8. Should any in your party have impaired mobility or you have concerns over suitability, please do share with us prior to booking so we can accommodate your needs where possible. The Land Rover itself has excellent side and rear steps to aid entering or leaving the vehicle, though it is higher than a normal vehicle and the ability to enter and exit is needed to join the safari.

  9. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and exceptional home-made cake is provided on the safari. The view from Heaven’s Gate when having this is simply incredible.
